Monday 11th  March Water up to 2 feet 10 inches on the gauge at Johnston’s.  Billy Cotter reports that the river is  looking lovely but today was no day to be on the river bank.  He said that it was bitterly cold and there was no sign of fish.

There are hopes that now that March has arrived there will be good Spring Sea trout beginning to enter the lower stretches of the river.  There should be a few big ones caught by the end of the month.
