Mike Dennehy, skipper of the Silver Dawn out of Kinsale reports that mackerel are now becoming easier to locate and
that their season is now in full swing. Mike has been getting his anglers on good quality wreck and reef fishing and they have been getting excellent results recently.
Good ling, coalfish and pollock as well as haddock and megrim ,gurnards etc are featuring in the catches. Best fish of late was a specimen ling of 33lbs that angler Ian Murphy caught last Wednesday. It was a great day for ling and there were many more in the 15 to 20 lb bracket.
