Michael Flanagan, Angling Guide and Reporter, reports that on Sunday last May 19th Whitelake hosted the Joe Farrelly Memorial Cup. It was a cracking day out and some super fish were caught. Noel Monaghan, Longwood topped the senior section with a fine fish of 3lbs 1oz, 2nd was Navan Angler Ciaran Connor, and Summerhill angler Tommy Fagan 3rd.

The junior section was won by Cormac Tormey of Archerstown, with another fine fish of 2lbs7oz. Connor Rennicks from Clonmellon was 2nd with Xena Fagan of Athboy 3rd.

The late Joe Farrelly wife Eileen presented all winners with prizes.
