I had the pleasure of speaking with David Tantrum, secretary of Waterford City and County Fly Fishing last Friday. He tells us the new harbour at Knockaderry is progressing well.
Carrigavantry and Knockaderry are both fishing good despite the cold weather. The browns are feeding well and fish to 6lbs have been caught at Knockaderry. Black and green are the go to first colours, down deep and slow.
To mark Fisheries Awareness Week Carrigavantry Reservoir are holding an Introduction to Fly Fishing Day on May 11th and 12th. All generations welcome, from Granddad to Grandson !
Don’t forget to disinfect your gear and remember anytime you fish abroad your angling gear can pick up invasive species.
