Seán Carty, Land and Sea Sport, Bundoran tells us:
10/06/2013: There wasn’t too many anglers out on Melvin this week gone but those that gave it a try and were willing to partake in battle with the savage midge were rewarded with fairly good results with good sonaghan and Gillaroo keepers reported from Rossinver , Kinlough bay and Laureen bay . Last night (Sunday) on Laureen bay there was plenty of mayfly on the water and a quick throw from the bank using a spent pattern proved to be successful with a nice trout of about 1.5lb caught and released . With slightly duller and less calm conditions forecast for the coming week its looking like its going to be a good week for the fishing .
Fly tying demonstration :
On next Saturday the 15th of June Carty’s Land And Sea Sports will host a fly tying demonstration by well known fly tier Basil Shields (Flies of Ireland) . The Demo will start at about 12noon and will go on for a few hours . The event is free to attend and Basil will be on hand during and after the demo to tie any flys requested and to answer any questions on flyfishing or fly tying . Please try to let Seán know if you are attending as space in the shop is limited . There will be more details in his report on www.landandseasports.ie
