Eamonn Conway reports that the Fane fished very well for trout on the opening day of the 2013 season. Eamonn had lots of trout to the net but they were small in size with the average size being around eight inches. A small hatch of olives appeared when the day heated up but the trout came eagerly to the nymphs. Newzeland style worked too. Some trout were being adventurous and were moving to the dry fly, surprising for this time of the season. Eamonn reckons that the fishing should pick up when the weather gets good.
