With the recent hot weather and low water level fishing has proved difficult over the last couple of weeks. Most anglers report below normal catches on the Shannon, however Jack Markham from Louth, Lincolnshire had a few good days fishing on The Salmon Run.
Ensuring plenty of ground bait went into his swim each day he had nets of around 30 lbs – 60 lbs of Bream and Hybrids with several fish around 6 lb a change in temperature and rain forecast over the next few days should see conditions back to normal.
Pike Fishing
The Pike fishing recently has not be as good as in previous weeks but anglers still averaging 6 – 8 fish per outing.
