Carrickmacross Angling & Junior Development Club held its first Angler of the Year competition, this Sunday on Namachree lake, Co. Monaghan. It was a cold start with frost on the cars that morning but the weather held up and all the anglers caught fish. Mainly roach with the odd bonus big perch making an appearance. A few of the lads had a spot of pike bother during the day which made the fishing patchy. Peader even managed a nice pike along with his bag of fish.
