Michael Flanagan reports on the White Lake opening day competition…

Well done to Noleen Finnegan of Duleek who won the opening day trout competition on March 1st on the White Lake in North Westmeath. Noleen had a cracking fish of 6lbs 3oz to take Top Rod. Kieran Flynn of Carnaross finished 2nd with another whopper of 5lbs14oz, and 3rd in the senior section was Trim angler Joe Foley with 5lbs 13oz.,

The juvenile section was won by another up and coming Trim angler James O’Neill with a trout of 5lbs 13oz, 2nd place went to Archestown angler Cormac Tormey 4lbs 14oz, and 3rd Craig Gaynor of Trim 4lbs 14oz.

The White Lake Angling Club have a busy competition calendar for 2015, and are back in action on Sunday 29th March. Up for grabs is the David McNally Memorial Cup. Fishing 11am-5pm members only. Find out more about White Lake.
