The 36th. Annual Cootehill Angling Festival took place from 26th. to 30th. of September. This year 93 anglers participated and fished five venues in rotation. Lakes included Lough Sillan North, Lough Sillan South, Bairds Shore, Lough Major and Annagherin.

After a great battle the 2014 champion Mark Pollard emerged victorious over Steve Saddler by 550grms. Mark was also a member of the winning team with Kevin Johnson and Gerry Whalley. The best one day catch was Steve Saddler 22.320kgs at Bairds Shore. Total catch for the week was 2,924.380kgs. Anglers enjoyed nightly entertainment in Cootehill and the week finished off with the usual presentation dinner in Errigal County House Hotel The Angling Festival committee is grateful to all who helped make the festival a success.
