Peter Cunningham of Boyne Valley Fishing Guides had two French clients Marc Dessert and Damien Laine from Gleneven Guesthouse out fishing for pike over the last two days in the North East. Conditions were favourable with temperatures up on previous weeks and a mixture of sunshine and cloud with light winds. Lure fishing was the method of choice and this was to prove more than effective with 12 pike taken up to lunchtime on the first day. After a leisurely lunch it was back to the fishing which did no let up at all and they finished up with a total of 24 pike for the day. The biggest fish taken was a well conditioned fish of 91cm.

Day 2 saw a change of venue with weather conditions more or less the same as the previous day but there were occasional showers. Lure fishing was the technique of choice again today and the sport picked up where it had finished on the previous day. Although the fishing was not quite as frantic as the previous day, 11 fish were still boated for the day. Nothing too big but great sport all the same.
