Ciaran Loughnane and Niall Burke enjoyed what they considered and exceptional 4 hours trolling trip last Sunday evening. Fishing in the Ballinasloe area the two anglers caught and released 14 pike, all of which were around the 4-5 lb weight. The fish were caught using natural imitation plugs and soft baits. What really impressed Ciaran and Niall was the condition of the pike, which were all very fit and gave great sport. At times the action was explosive and both of anglers were taken by surprise when they had one take a soft bait right beside the boat as they were feeding out the lure, about 1m off the engine.
