11/2/16 They say you can’t keep a good Angler down. Well today was a perfect example, when Local Ghillie Mr. Brod O’Sullivan of Stella Maris, Waterville, caught a lightening fresh 10 lbs. Salmon on the troll, and now for his quote of the day and it’s a cracker and I quote, “not bad for a 79 year old”. There is no argument to that. Just for the record I will second that. Wind NW light to calm and overcast.
12/2/16 Local angler and Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer kept the Wild Atlantic Way on the airwaves today and for good reason, in flat calm conditions he caught a fine 9 ¼ lbs. Salmon on the troll and by all counts he had a good battle with his Wild Atlantic Salmon. Just for the record that’s three on the trot, not bad going. Considering there are very few boats out there, you could say its Brilliant. Wind, flat calm all day with good cloud cover.
13/2/16 Lough Currane was on the the quiet side in the rising of My Noble Gentlemen the Salmon. In other words they failed miserably in their duties. The only bit of action was in the kelt department. Local Ghillie Mr Sion Brain of www.kbfishingireland.com reported 5 to his boat . On the weather front, calm this morning and come the afternoon there was a light wind from the West with rain.
14/2/16 There were at least 8 boats manipulating on Lough Currane today and none of them will receive the Nobel prize for catching my Noble Salmon for the simple reason that they all failed in their duties.

15/2/16 Lough Currane was the quiet side in all departments. Weather calm this morning and come the afternoon there was light wind from the SW. Just for the record there were 9 boats fishing. On that note we head for the congratulations department and that goes to the one and only, local angler and Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com for getting a good write up in the Trout and Salmon Magazine and his photo of course. Just for the record he also got his photo in the Angling Digest magazine, that’s what you get when you catch the first Salmon in the whole of Ireland and you can say without any fear of contradiction, its equal to Star Wars and the only Star in this case is Neil, so well done again.
16/2/16 Lough Currane was at a standstill with a storm force winds from the SW with heavy rain all day. It has made a massive flood and just for the record the amount of rainfall this month is 91.3 mm and that doesn’t include today’s downfall. On that note I will go back to Yesterdays Notes and it was reported to me today that one boat caught 7 kelts, they must have thought they were elected every time the reel went off but sadly the fish were off more ways than one.
