Anglers charter boat fishing from Red Bay in Co. Antrim encountered some big congers recently. Billy McMichael had the biggest conger onboard Predator II for over 10 years at 47lb. Billy’s big fish didn’t stop there as he also had a lovely 21lb spurdog.
Both fish were taken in very deep water using whole coalfish for bait and were caught along with a number of congers and another 3 specimen spurdogs on the same day.
