Perch save the day for pike anglers out with Mick Flanagan on Ennell…
The weather has been unbelievable in the last 10-12 days (apart from that shot cold snap. Bank Holiday Monday January 2nd was also cold and we broke ice at Hopes Point to get out on the Lough Ennell. That day was one of the coldest I was out on the waters in some time.
I had some pals from the Wicklow who are regular visitors to Mullingar but he pike were very reluctant to play ball. After quite a few hours trolling and spinning we had to go in search of perch to get some action. The Perch were a bit more playful and we had some cracking sport jigging in deep water.
