Stefan Martin from Killybegs Mariners SAC reports on the May Bank Holiday weekend’s fishing on Donegal Bay…

Bank holiday fever gripped the bay as camper vans filled the roads and barbecue aromas filled the air and small boats dotted the sparkling bay under clear blue sky’s and it was time to grab a few hours on the shore.

Loads of pollack and coleys chasing fry and taking baits out on sand intended for flatties. Some nice fish hit the soft plastic lures worked around the edges and turbots and dabs beat an odd pelagic fish to the meal, great to get out and get some fish and feel the warmth of the sun once again.

Go fishing…
