Angling guide Peter Cunningham from Boyne Valley Fishing Guides reports on some nice trout fishing from the Boyne Valley over the weekend. Peter was guiding for Pierre and Sophie who were visiting Ireland for the first time from the Mediterranean island of Corsica. The day was overcast and mild enough but as there were not many flies hatching Peter decided that best results would be produced by a bit of nymph fishing. Water levels were well down but there was still a tinge of colour in the water.

This was the first time that Pierre and Sophie had fished nymphs and both anglers mastered the technique very quickly under Peters’ watchful eye. Both managed to catch some fish and had a nice relaxing day on the water.
