Catch of the Week for this week goes to Jacob Wylie (12) from the UK.
Jacob visited the Ridge Pool on the river Moy having never cast a fly or caught a salmon before in any of his twelve years on this earth. Well Jacob soon righted that wrong (with a little help from the experts) and once he could cast he started to catch – by the end of his time on the water he had landed two fine salmon of 4.5lbs and 3.5lbs, the first of which he kept and the second he released.
We hope that these fish are the first and second of many many fish to come to Jacob’s net; indeed, no matter how many fish he lands or loses in the future, these two will be remembered for all of his lifetime.
