O’Callaghan’s Open
25 August: The Fountain House stretch was the venue of choice for the O’Callaghan’s Open today.
The match was won by Cork angler Ken Ince with 27.200kg, second was John Bohane with 26.340kg from Rooves Bay and Mick Fordham 3rd at Fountain House with 19.660kg.
Today’s open marks the start of two back to back 3-day festivals sponsored by O’Callaghans Bar & Guest House
Low water levels may have impacted the weights from the Garden Centre stretch which will not feature in the Celtic Shield festival starting tomorrow.

27 August: Plenty of roach and hybrid catches today on the whip, the favoured method this festival so far. The Fountain House stretch continues to produce the better catches and a top weight today of 27.720kg for Adrian Freeman. 2nd today is John Bohane with 23.600kg and 3rd Peter Stupers with 22.940kg.

28 August: Mick Fordham of Wokingham, Berkshire wins the CELTIC SHIELD!
Brilliant fishing for a three day match win of 66.360kg. In second place is Wilbert Van Meel from the Netherlands with 59.350kg and 3rd Julian Kendrick Co.Edenderry with 58.740kg.
Hybrids have been the dominant species this week on the Greenway and Fountain House with the whip the favoured method. Well done to Trevor Lovell for his match win today with almost 30kg.
