There were a few more salmon reported from Lough Beltra in the last week. Weather has been very mixed, like the rest of the country.
Peter Jackson had a 14lb fish on April 12th at Tommys Wall. The salmon took a shrimp fly. Godfrey Holden caught and released an 11lbs salmon at Clarke’s Point on a Beltra Peter.
The weekend was quiet (in angling terms, not the weather) and only one fish was reported. On Sunday Simon Kaye had his first Beltra fish off a breezy Clarke’s point on a Beltra Peter, a nice 9lb salmon.
Yesterday, 17 April, saw 3 fish caught on the lake. Pat McHale had 2 salmon. First was a 10.5 lbs fish on a Hairy Mary at the Quarry and the second was about 8lbs and it took a Silver Badger at Morrison’s. Rocky Moran had an 8lb fish also.
