Hopes of a late run on the Drowes as levels improve

Monday 27^th August  to Sunday 2^nd September 2018.

The Drowes has fair water levels now and the gauge at present is reading 0.48 metres. There have been a few salmon recorded though there has been a low angling effort as is usual at this late stage in the season. We will see in the next week or so if the river gets a late run towards the middle of the month as was the case last season.

The Drowes Fishery is one of Ireland’s premier spring salmon and grilse fisheries. The river is some 5 miles in length, with over 70 named pools, flowing from Lough Melvin at Lareen Bay and entering the sea at Tullaghan, just outside Bundoran. The Drowes has a wide variety of water suitable for all fishing methods, including several miles of good fly water and deeper slower moving pools suitable for spinning and bait fishing.
