Monday 21st May to Sunday 10th June 2018 (3 weeks).
We received a good flood on the 21st May reading 0.38m. Thereafter the river dropped as the hot, dry, sunny weather set in. Except for a small fresh (0.18m) on the 4th June very low summer levels prevailed for the 3 weeks. The fishery was understandably very quiet and only 3 visiting rods fished. There were a few salmon recorded however. On the 21st, Mickey McLaughlin recorded a 15lb salmon caught and released on a spinner from beat 8. Alan Watson recorded 2 fish caught on fly in very low water. The first was an 8lb salmon caught from beat 8 on the 31st May and the 2nd a 6lb grilse caught from beat 9 on the 2nd June.
