With the hot, dry, sunny weather the Owenea ran at very low levels all week. On Monday the gauge read 0.10m and the river gradually dropped to low summer levels over the week. By the end of play on Sunday the gauge only read 0.06m. The gauge average for the week was a meagre 0.08 metres! It is hardly surprising there were no reported fish caught over the week. There were 9 visiting rods fishing over the week in the very testing conditions. It is a difficult achievement to book a holiday and get conditions right for salmon fishing!
