Menapia Sea Anglers report on what has been keeping them occupied while waiting for competition angling to resume…
With the shortage of club and open competitions due to COVID, Menapia club members had time to target tope, the ultimate speed machine, from the shore. We have had no less than 10 length based shore specimens between our members.
The best so far is Joey Brady’s beast of over 49lbs. This is followed by Joe Carley, Sean Carley and James Duffy who all had fish over 40lbs. Next up are JJ Roche and Jimmy Doyle both with fish on 35lb followed by Simon Doyle’s 20lb fish.
All these topewere quickly measured and released to fight another day.
Catch of the Week goes to the Menapia Club for these great tope from the shore.

The Menapia Sea Angling Club was founded in 2000, by a small handful of Wexford anglers. It was felt that to retain and grow interest & membership of a successful club, it would have to engage a wide variety shore-angling, that would cater for all. For more information see
