Richie Ryan is one of the many anglers fishing the shores of Cork Harbour who is enjoying the bass fishing at the moment. His catch below is typical of the run of schoolies that are around at the moment but better fish are turning up too, with bass to 8lb and approaching specimen length reported. Richie tells us he’s not surprised the better sized fish are in as the date from the IFI tagging study he was involved in showed that the fish returned to the harbour mid-June.

Meanwhile, Ian O’Shea was out on the waves with Sean Og, Kevin and Scott. Anchored on a couple of harbour marks they had great ray fishing from the moment they dropped lines.
