Lindsey Clarke reports from the Drowes…
After the low water levels of the past fortnight, good rain last weekend meant the river rose. Conditions are good again with the level on the gauge at the Four Masters Bridge reading 5 now. With the allowance of inter-county travel the fishery was busier and consequently more salmon were caught. In the last week there were around 15 salmon recorded. The best of these was probably Chris Donegan’s 11lbs. salmon caught from The Wash Stones on the 10th. The fishery office will be fully open again on the 17th for permits, licences etc. The fishery should then be back to business as normal hopefully after all this time.
