Keith Clarke, charter skipper of Fiona Tee of Killybegs Fishing Trips reports on a good mix of fishing on Donegal Bay. At the weekend his anglers enjoyed good fishing for ling and pollack under the Slieve League cliffs. This was followed up by some incredible tuna action on Sunday when Keith reckons he never saw such a feeding frenzy in the bay. They finished the day with 5 hook ups and only got 2 fish to boat. But 2 very big fish, the first was 98″ over 600lb, and the 2nd was 94″ a 540lb fish. They finished the day when Peter took on the epic battle on the stand up gear, but after a good 45 minutes the battle ended in heart break when the rod broke and the fish was lost.

Sunday was a very big day for anglers onboard Deep Blue of Tuna.ie too. After a slow start in the morning when Adrian Molloy’s anglers had a number of strikes without a hook-up, things improved dramatically. As the day went on the hook up rate got better and better and they finished with six tuna to the boat. The biggest bluefin was close to or just over 400 lb.  Adrian kept the ball rolling and on Monday he had five BFT to the boat. The smallest fish around 200 lb’s and the biggest over 400 lb’s. Tuesday was another good day where  three fine tuna were caught by Phil and Geoff. The smallest was around 350lb, then one of 500lb and the third a very hard fighting, fiesty fish close to 400lb.
