River Moy Angling Report – week ending 14/05/2023

Last week was yet another good week with decent water and improving catch numbers on the Moy system. In total, 64 salmon were reported caught, with many good quality double-figure fish up to 15lbs.  Water levels at Ballylahan Bridge were at 0.6m on Monday, topped the 1m mark on Wednesday and Thursday, to then taper off nicely towards the end of the week.

Ballina Salmon Anglers reported 2 salmon weighing around 6lbs, both caught on the worm.

Mount Falcon recorded one fish of 7.5lbs on a spinner.

Knockmore Salmon Anglers reported 4 salmon caught towards the end of the week on the worm and spinner. (4.5lbs, 8lbs, 8.5lbs and 12 lbs)

Armstrong Fishery recorded 1 salmon for the week, caught on the worm. (5lbs)

Gannon’s Fishery had one splendid salmon of 13lbs caught on the worm on Friday.

The Foxford Fishery reported 5 fish caught, with a real belter of 15lbs caught on a prawn.

Foxford Salmon Anglers recorded 6 fish for the week with another nice double figure springer of 13lbs.

Cloongee Fishery recorded 1 salmon for the week, caught spinning (9lbs).

East Mayo Anglers recorded 43 salmon for the week (9 released).  Eleven fish were caught on the spinner, 17 on the fly and 15 on the worm. Fifteen of the salmon were double-figure fish with the best one weighing in at 14lbs, caught by Adam Connolly.
