Nice tinge to the river brings first salmon of the year for Blackwater angler

1555

Darragh Fitzgerald was in touch to say the fishing on the River Blackwater around Millstreet has picked up recently. There was a nice tinge to the water on his last outing to the river and he saw a lot of salmon throwing in the pools. That activity proved to be a sign of fish being ‘on the take’, and he managed to catch a nice fish of about 6lb in the Keale Bridge area on a red copper Flying C. He also caught a grilse which was released back to the water.
