Jonathan Paul Philips is a keen angler based in North Wexford. Jonathan reports that, after a very slow start of the season, North Wexford beaches finally started to produce solid run of schoolie bass.
Jonathan and his friends had a couple of busy sessions with bags of 20 bass per session. Fish were in the different schoolie size range from 42 to 57 cms. Best baits proven to be ragworm again which is nearly a tradition along the east coast at this time of the year. Lads encountered nice size flounders among the catches too. Despite hard trying smoothounds were not present at this stage yet, but this could change any time soon.
