Declan Smith with a magnificent trout
At last the fishing has improved. Following the sporadic hatches last week, there were really good hatches on Sunday and Monday. Angler numbers have increased over the weekend and everyone enjoyed a great fishing day on Sunday. Due to the strong winds and overcast skies, most boats caught fish.
Night time buzzers
Muriel, Yvonne and Sarah Frazer had a very successful day dapping, catching and releasing plenty of trout. Colin and Finian Dodd had four trout, and Simon Steele had three trout to 1½lb on a Grey Wulff. The catch of the week goes to Declan Smith from Dundalk, catching and releasing a trout which he estimated at 8lb, caught on spent in Muck Bay.

Visiting anglers getting great Mayfly action on Arrow

Jackie Mahon reports that there have been big hatches of mayfly over the last few days. The trout are taking fly well and fishing is good. Jackie had 2 visiting Anglers from the UK  fishing Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The pair caught 17 fish over the 3 days on dry and wet Mayfly patterns. On Tuesday he had 6 fish and yesterday while fishing with 2 Scottish Anglers there were 5 trout landed.
