Steve Schreck reports from Lough Conn…
Angling Report week ending 06/08/2023
Since the lakes are very high at the moment and hatches of mayfly and olives are sporadic and localised, angling activity has been limited.
Peter Roche fished around Cloghan’s Bay, Inishlee and Annagh Point on Tuesday. He recorded a good hatch of olives, but trout would only swirl and nudge his flies instead of taking. On Thursday he ventured out again, fishing Brackwansha and Old Schoolhouse Bay. He managed to catch and release two trout, which fell prey to an International Dabbler.
The third outing last week on Sunday around Brackwansha, Peter caught and released one fish on a Golden Olive Dabbler.
Gary Binley and a friend of his had a good session on Saturday, catching several fish on wet and dry flies.
