NCFFI name Ireland team to fish the World Championships 2024

NCFFI Team Ireland Feeder Manager Brenton Sweeney has announced his team of six to fish the World Championships of 2024.

Selected for the Team Ireland Feeder squad are Michael Buchwalder, Tony Hopkins, Johnny McKinley, James O’Doherty and Charlie Richards who this year will be joined by Rory Dunne who returns to the international scene for the first time since 2011. The 13th edition of the championship of nations will take place at Le Merida, Spain in May.

Brenton says:- ‘With the venue finally announced I’m delighted to put forward this team of experienced anglers as we continue to seek a podium finish overseas. I’m pleased to welcome Rory who brings us years of angling experience and who incidentally last represented Ireland on the same venue.’

With the continued enthusiasm for feeder fishing a larger number of anglers expressed an interest in the teams for 2024. Brenton continues to review those applicants and will announce the squads for both the Masters and new for 2024, the Under 25’s accordingly. Applicants will be provided the opportunity to provide support for the squad on the bank and gain experience for the future.
