The evening after-work trout sessions in the lakeboat are back on! Wasn’t sure how the trout would be feeding, they were preoccupied on pin fry for ages so I left them alone, but they definitely seem to be back hitting the lures now anyway!
Nice feeding spell when the wind picked up, 7 wild brownies landed with as many again that shook the hooks, all safely released after a quick photo!
A 36cm perch fooled me into thinking it was a trout fighting like crazy. Perch are everywhere feeding high in the water across the bays, keeping the lures away from them for long enough that the trout got a chance was the key! Great craic, hon the Sheelin!
