Word on the pier is that duckfly hatches are increasing this week all over the lake, with spooned trout from the lower lake reportedly feeding well on buzzers. Milder weather over the next few days, although wet, should see another improvement, with the next week possibly seeing the peak of the duckfly hatch.

Angling guide Jasper Mathews of Wild Atlantic Angling Experiences has been out with a couple of clients recently and put them on to some nice fish. Arnulf kicked pff his trip with this lovely ferox, which he was clearly delighted with!

Keith booked a day with Jasper last weekend, and despite the cold, managed some nice fish on plugs, including his personal best.

Last week was bitterly cold, but Ed and Padraig enjoyed their day out with Jasper, the cold meaning they had the lake to themselves. This beautifully coloured fish caught on the troll was the pick of the bunch for the lads.
