With coarse fish all the normal advice applies, appropriate rod and reel to avoid exhausting the fish, knotless mesh net for landing, unhooking mat for bigger fish, tools ready for unhooking, minimum time out of the water, quick photo, release and plenty of time for letting the fish recover where necessary.
