Well known top Pike angler Jouke Jansma from Holland decided to check out the Pike fishing in Ireland and stayed with Kevin and Jane Lyons at Melview Lodge in Longford, various methods were use however Jerk baits produced the most fish. Kevin said the weather was extremely bad on a few of the days and the rain and very high winds forced us to fish from the banks of different venues, however we still manage to catch some nice Pike on the Jerk baits.
Father and son Jeff & Stewart Anderson form the UK midlands were over for their annual Pike fishing trip to Ireland and once again decided to stay at Melview Lodge in Longford and be guided by Kevin. Fishing mainly dead baits they managed Pike to 19lb with smaller Pike falling to lures. Jeff and Stewart are no strangers to Ireland and it’s weather and a few of the days were very bad with high winds and rain making it very difficult to fish some places, however they stuck it out and managed to produce some good fish.
They are already looking forward to spring next year to return and catch the one’s that got away.
