    Coarse angling in the south east is centred on the famous River Barrow. It has vast shoals of silver fish from the tidal lower reaches to Monasterevin. Many competitions and festivals are hosted on the river each year.

    Good general coarse fishing with some specimen perch and hybrids. Fine bream fishing in the town stretches with good access along the towpath in the town stretch.

    River Barrow & Navigation Canals

    Fine general coarse fishing with some specimen fish and good competition stretches. The match length at Bahana, and stretches at St. Mullins and Clashganny offer the visiting angler a huge scope to try different types of coarse fishing in picturesque surroundings. Trotting a waggler or stick float, ledgering and pole fishing all offer possibilities on these waters.
