Conor Lynch was enjoying at warm day on the river bank last Monday, 26 March. While bright sunshine is not always conducive to good pike fishing Conor was prepared to “endure” the unseasonal warmth in the hope that something would take. As the evening remained comfortable he fished on past sunset and as the last of the pink glow began to leave the sky he hooked into a good run. The fish fought well and when it was eventually netted turned out to be a fine trout rather than a pike. The fish was weighed at 10lbs, and after a quick photo slipped back into the dark waters where it came from.
