Charter skipper Mark Gannon reports on deep sea fishing for his clients fishing out from Courtmacsherry.
A Dutch group fishing on the Lady Louise had good fishing with 18 Species recorded in 3 days, with more on the way should the weather improve. They included Conger, Ling, Coalfish, Pollack, Whiting, Haddock, Pouting, Cod, Mackerel, Blue Shark, Megrim, Dab, Thornback Ray, Bullhuss, Lesser Spotted dogfish, Ballan wrasse, Cuckoo wrasse and sandeel.
The heaviest fish was a blue shark caught by Nicky van Esch fishing with his father Ronald of 203 cm approx weight 40 kg. On the Lady Patricia there was good Pollack fishing along with a good days Ling fishing on the inshore wrecks with 34 Ling to 14 lb.
