During a recent visit by 2 groups of French anglers local French guide Jean Louis Authier, based in Carrigallen, reports the following;-
A group of 4 French anglers caught 147 pike, the largest 95cm over 5 days. All the pike were caught all on lures on Lough Oughter and the Woodford River. They also had one days trout fishing and caught 100 fish up to 1.5lb. The fish were caught on the fly on the Annalee River.
Another group of 2 anglers at the end of April had 181 pike in one week the largest was 102cm and also had a days trout fishing catching 85 fish up to 1.5lb again all in the same rivers and lakes as above.
All fish were released alive.
