East Clare lakes fishing well for pike and perch

Ken O’Neill of IFI Limerick reports that angling in Clare has jumped into action over the past couple of weeks.  The East Clare lakes and rivers are producing nice pike and perch.

Dromore Lake, Ruan

The Ennis anglers had a Pike competition on Dromore Lake .  Congratulations to Dermot Lynch in landing a 12 lb pike during the competition in which four fish were landed.  Dermot Lynch was second and Gearoid Kirwan came third in the same competition.  Dromore lake is having a very good fly hatch at the moment also.

Ballyalia Lake, Ennis

Ballyalia Lake is fishing well for pike at the moment, however the fish are mainly small jacks.

Doon Lake & Lough Bridget, Broadford

There is a lot of angling activity happening at the moment on Doon Lake and Lough Bridget on pike and coarse fishing.

Graney River, Scarriff

Some nice catches of Pike and Coarse fish being caught in the Scarriff area and Lough O’Grady.  1 ½ lb Perch caught by Mike Daly on Graney River.
