As the trout season edges closer to closure, the avid fly fisher is now looking at all options, in order to continue his chances of casting a line out over the coming winter months. Fly-fishing for pike suitably fits the bill and offers the angler some serious sport with Leitrim holding a huge choice of venues in its many untouched wild waterways. Lough Rowan is the place to be this coming Saturday, September 21st, as it hosts the inaugural www.fishingfever.ie Pike fly fishing competition. There are some amazing prizes to the total value of over €1000 up for grabs.
Entry fees are €25 per man, €20 for women and €10 for juniors.
Eye protection is a must so don’t forget your sunglasses!
