Michals Fishing Tackle Shop in Portlaoise is holding an open Pike fishing competition on Templemore Town Park Lake on the 24th November.

Rregistration from 9am with the competition from 10am to 3pm, you must have a permit/ licence to fish the lake, cost of competition is 10 euros.Michal's Tackle Shop Portlaoise

Strictly Barbless Hooks, All Fish to be Returned unharmed, Proper Pike Fishing equipment to be used for unhooking the Fish, Strictly no Livebait.

Only two (2) Rods per angler, No Fishing Rods to be left unattended, Strictly No Fish to be taken from the lake to be used as Deadbait, Landing Nets to be used to lift the pike from the water, any further information contact Michal’s.

Club Waterkeepers will be on patrol so any angler found to be breaking any rules will forfeit their entrance and be removed from the competition.

Templemore and district anglers are a club that has a beautiful stretch of the river suir and has a beautiful lake just off the centre of the town..we cater for both the game angler ( wild brownies ) and the course angler with rudd, pike ,bream,tench and a healthy hybred stock in the town lake….day permits and licences may be got for both types from john walsh and sons main street ..or any committee member or by the club phone no 0862713243..and remember if you would like a round of pitch and putt its right beside the town lake ,the kids play ground is 2 minute walk from the lake and p&putt , there is also an athletic track , gaa grounds, church ruins and an old castle with acres of woodland that you can just ramble in and around if you wish to take a break from fishing.
