The Final of the 2014/15 National Pike Championships was held on a lake in Clare today. In all 55 anglers qualified to fish in the Final but 2 couldnt make it. The 53 anglers caught 105 pike to 22-02. Several nice doubles were caught.
The clear winner was David Murphy of the Newbridge & Dist Pike Anglers Club. He had 5 pike for an impressive 37 lb. 02 oz. which included a best pike of 22 lb. 02 oz. He was crowned National Pike Champion and will captain the 10 man Irish team in the Ireland Vs Great Britain International Challenge in October
