Alex, Pascal and Chris Nieder were visiting the north-east over this bank holiday weekend and spent a day on Lough Ramor in Co.Cavan with fishing guide Peter Cunningham. There have been a few nice fish caught recently on Ramor recently but the fishing has generally been difficult. Todays weather was a mix of sun and cloud with winds freshening in the afternoon. Water has been crystal clear over recent weeks and air temperatures today were around 10-11 degrees centigrade. Despite the fishing being tough Peter managed to eek out a couple of nice fish for the lads who were really made up with their catches. As is usual for the time of year the fish gave some great acrobatic displays with one in particular spending more time on or above the water’s surface than under it. After a number of heartstopping tail walking runs, the fish were boated and after a few quick photos, were returned to the lake and allowed time to recover before being released.
