Killinarden Angling Initiative KAI of Tallaght head northwards for some tough fishing, they report:
On Saturday the 14th of November 10 out of 30 lads left Tallaght for Derry to try their hand at some Pike fishing at The Oaks Fishery. After 5 hours driving and the weather not looking to change they trucked on and setup on their pegs! The rain hammered them and when that let up a gale blew in, blowing rods and equipment into the drink in the dead of the night. But that didn’t stop them! They fished on till 2pm on the 15th, weather beaten and like drowned rats they packed up and headed back to reality with loads of pike of all sizes and a trout at 3lbs landed!
Again all the lads wish to send a huge thank you to the lads at The Oak fishery for their hospitality, the trip would have been a lot harder if not for them! And a huge thank you to our sponsors Anglers World Fishing Tackle for their help with the fantastic top quality bait!
Killinarden Angling Initiative

Its principle aims are to promote, develop and improve angling in the Killinarden and the greater west Tallaght area and is affiliated with the National Coarse Fishing Federation Ireland. During the summer months the main work of the initiative is taking young people from Killinarden on fishing courses .The Initiative has also been a catalyst in setting up a children’s and Adult fishing club in Killinarden for many of these young people and giving them a hobby they can enjoy for life.
