Michel and Christophe Maratrey from France fished the lower Boyne recently with angling guide Peter Cunningham. With the low water conditions and changeable weather it looked as though things might be tough. This was the lads first time salmon fishing and even they could not have expected to enjoy the success that they had during their visit to the Boyne Valley area.
During their three day visit Christophe and Michel landed 6 salmon to 7.5 lbs. Under Peters watchful eye all of the salmon were taken quickly to the net to avoid overtiring the fish. After a quick photo or two the fish were returned to the water and helped to recuperate before being released back to the River Boyne. At the end of their stay the lads were delighted with the results that they had achieved with Peter.
