Guide Richie Ryan sent us a  report from his recent outings in Cork Harbour. As can be seen below the Eire Bass guide had more luck on board Sea Hawk with cod on the fly. Two fine kelpy cod of around 5 Lbs weight fell to the Dr. Jacques’ clouser fly.

Then there was a shore outing with Australian Mark Cook for bass. The conditions were less than ideal but Mark persisted and was rewarded with a fine 6 Lb bass on lure. He was chuffed as it was his first ever bass. In addition, an outing for pollack on the fly proved very fruitful for Mark where a large quantity of fish fell to the flies tied this time by Richie.

George Garland , nothing to Judy he hastened to add, also booked two outings with the guide recently. Having enjoyed a fly fishing trip with super sub Tim Murrell , George decided to have a second session which proved just as fruitful as his first. Fish after fish came to the fly. George stated that Richie should patent the fly as so many pollack were landed on the pattern.
