It was an early start to the season this year for angling gudie Jacek Gorny, getting his piking season off to a fine start last week on Corrib. Fishing with his first client of the year, Przemek Markowski, they enjoyed good sport on the 19th. Although pike were not very active, throughout the day they had three periods in which they were taking (morning, noon and evening). They landed 7 fish for the day, including 4 fine fish of 104, 103, 98, and97cm. The fish were at a depth of 5-7 meters and taking artificial lures.

The mild winter so far will have encouraged fish to keep feeding throughout, and Jacek is also looking forward to the start of the trout season next month, when he can start targeting big browns and ferox again. To book a day with Jacek, contact him at www.fishingireland.pl
